I’m going nucking futs waiting for our panel to approve our thesis proposal, or at least give their verdict. Out of the three panelists, only one gave a verdict (Approved), while the other two are still reviewing it. That wouldn’t be much cause for concern… unless our thesis group is the only one without a verdict! The rest of the batch can either sleep easy at nights or spend their nights on revisons, while we could only twiddle our thumbs.
Well, not really. The reason why I want the verdict of our proposal right away is that we’re already developing the thesis. We already have our Full Cone NAT traversal up and running, as well as the core of the virtual private network running on a Loopback network interface. The latest version of our thesis can already traverse static NAT implementations of enterprise Cisco routers as well. We have a lot more to do, but if the proposal is turned down, all would be for naught, and that sucks.
Sir Alexis really makes us work hard, even with 3 more terms left for the thesis. At this rate we’ll be done with the program by the middle of the second term! We’ll still be working through the summer though, and even now, we have a deadline for April 16, we must already have our fragmenter and assembler, encryption and symmetric NAT traversal. Exams are over, but it still means sleepless nights for us.
Well, I’m off to bed, just noticing the time. I still have to get to school early to unlock the Network Lab. I liked the old laboratory better, hidden away and exclusive. Now, with the lab located in the Gokongwei building as well… I feel we lost our independence. What we got in exchange is a bigger room though its an uneven trade.

Well, it looks like Ozy’s doing a great job interning for dotPH if he got me to port over from Blogspot and Wordpress, though I had my annoyances with the two domain providers since a while back. With Wordpress, if you can’t pay for the service or you don’t have your own domain name, you can’t configure everything from scratch. Blogger is the opposite, with everything configurable but there’s only a single page given.
I guess I’ll end up here, looks great so far, but I don’t see any way to upload my own html, but maybe I haven’t explored enough. Let’s just wait and see I guess. One thing great about this place that Osmond marketed is that it has a lively community, which sounds great. That’s the real attraction to this place.
I just had my last exam of the term, so all that’s left is a project and the continuation of our thesis. I’ll also be having my OJT this summer, but I don’t have a company for internship yet. We’re still asking around, but hey, if anyone knows of a place that needs eight Computer Science students majoring in Networking, drop me a line or leave a comment.
